so show me where you fit

james blake, you are a fucking genuis.

i feel like, right now, everything is in balance.
yes i know there's the impending assignments and near exams coming up and studying is a must and everything should be taken seriously at a time like this but i could not enjoy it any better.

everything is at an equilibrium; i have a bunch of people who love me and care for me and help me along the way. I'm working hard but also going out quite a lot and discovering and learning new things and meeting new people.

starting to learn that i shouldn't avoid doing things because I'm scared that I would regret it. maybe, as i make mistakes that i would regret, it would show me what i really want and what I should aim for.
And it's not as if I'm going into this alone :)

working ouuuut :)

hey guys :)
soo this post is really just common knowledge and you guys probs have heard this a thousand times in pd and shit but i think that this is something to stress about real importantly, especially to so many people that i've talked to who have misconceptions of working out and being healthy in general.
i know i'm not a fitness trainer or some crap but I'll just talk to you guys from my experience.

firstly, there's these people i know who think that extreme eating ONLY is the best way to lose weight and stay healthy.
by extreme eating I mean like going on full protein for days or even the whole "salad, meat no carbs" thing for meals or even fasting for some intervals a day.
to be honest I can guarantee you that that will never make you healthier or even lose weight.
Yes, if you keep it for more than 5 days you might see some results ,ie half a kilo, but as 'easy' as it is to lose it, the easier it is to gain it back.
Most of the time the people who say "yes i am going healthy via extreeeeme weightloss eating" tends to buy a chocolate bar or eat other food a day or so afterwards.
tbh i have tried doing this and mentally, the food makes you feel as though you're already eating 'healthy' so snack foods and the momentary chocolate bar is alright.
So, to the people who go "oh this is my regime: im just going to have boiled veggies in the morning, salad at lunch and like a small plate of food at dinner", i guarantee you will not keep track of it unless you have loads of mental determination.

also, i think it is sososososo important to exercise.
my friends think that eatting healthy is the keep to losing weight and staying fit but, in my experience, i feel that exercising is SUCH an important part of that track to staying healthy.
correct me if i'm wrong but I feel like there should be an equilibrium to food and exercising; clean food and daily exercise and you will start to lose weight.
And it's not just losing weight.
Your body starts to tone and build up stamina, endurance and so much more and you internally you'll just start to feel healthier.
I've been working out daily for a while now and although there's not much difference in weight, i don't feel like that is such an importance anymore.
my body feels so much better and fit and more toned and even run distances that, when i began, would feel tired 30secs in.
Not just that, my recovery pace is better as well. Most of the people I know who wants to stay fit have a really good image in their mind but are lazy to take the first step to exercising or just don't have the mental determination.
And mental determination is such a big big thing in exercising. I mean, if mental determination played no role in exercising, everyone could exercise for 2 hours a day wootdawoot!
But sadly it does. And sadly, when our calves start to ache from 30seconds of jumping jacks and 10 reps of burpees, our mind triggers us to stop and give up.
But the only advice I could give is, keep working on it. If the cannot do that routine or finish the time you want, so be it for that day. and the next day try again and keep working on it until you can. And weirdly, once you reach that mark, you mind goes "omg it's not that bad" and your mind thinks its easy and 'do-able'.

So yes, EXERCISING IS SOSOSOSOS IMPORTANT. yes, so is eatting but i think that, if you want to be fit, one cannot survive without the other.

So tips and tricks for improving your mental determination as well, which in turn improves your 'working-outness"?

1.listen to upbeat music! I've made a playlist on my spotify with club tracks or dance tracks (david guetta and calvin harris are amaaaazing for this) and keep it on loud. I feel like your body just goes to the rhythm and you just really do work out.

2. Start off small and build up.
I used to have spurts of working out when I feel like I'm so flabby that I exercise for 1 hour and then the next days i laze out. This is cause I feel like I can't keep up with that one hour so I just mentally tell myself to have a rest and end up not doing anything at all an going back to base one.
I think it's best if you start off with 20mins of exercising. It doesn't need to be all cardio and HIIT, like maybe 5 minutes of cardio and 15 minutes of toning. And slowly build up. You start to feel that your recovery rate starts to improve and after some time you feel like you can do more than 20minutes. And don't be discouraged by 20minutes. Even though the recommended exercise time is 1 hour per day, 20 minutes is great enough not counting all your daily activities.

3. for home workouts, do routines that aren't repetitive- i feel like routines that are repetitive makes you feel bored and your brain dread it, which in turn makes your body more tired and feel lazy. Do routines that are spontaneous (youtube video workout routines) and change your routines around everyday so your body doesn't get use to it and start to dread it.

4. Don't be discouraged too easily!
Feeling that you're not losing weight as much as you are exercising, feeling that all this working out still makes you unfit, it's all okay.
Because internally, i can guarantee to you that you have improved one way or another. either you have started to build muscles, they are more tone, or your stamina and endurance have increased. Even though there might be not physical signs there have been some improvement somewhere. So keep working at it and soon you will see the physical changes.

hope this all helps you guys :) good luck !

SIGMUND FREUD WAS A NEUROLOGIST!

Fuark seriously hate my new english tutor right now.
Had a session last week and he was reading through my essay and was like, "did you do all this contextual research by yourself?" And i was like yeah i did.
And then he was like what was sigmund freud and i was like a neurologist.
And hes like "no actually he isnt. Hes a psychoanalysist blahlahblah yeah but your english teachers at school can be naive able this as well since theyre in their own bubbles blahblah so thinking that freud was a neurologist isnt your fault."
GOOGLE IT BITCH HE WAS A NEUROLOGIST. THEN after that he became father of psychoanalysis.
Ughs. Annoying. And made me look so stupid on our first session.
This was after he corrected me that no Modernism did not start in late 19th Century but actually in the 1890s.
What.

Soz. In the english essay mode = english rant

HEY GUYS - Exercise Routine and Resolutions!

Sorry for the huuuuuge drought in posting, so many things have happened and i'm getting caught up with so much work but WOOOOOT FEELING GOOD.

It's already the second week holidays (and still so much work to do!) and apart from a little going out I've just been lazing at home attempting to start work and watching Running Man most of the time.
hahahas i don't know why but the craze started up again but this week hopefully i'm crunch down and limit my watching to like...one episode a day? hahahahs.

Workout wise, everything has been going good as well! I'm still doing a lot of blogilates but I've started doing workout vid from Fitnessblender on youtube.
If you guys haven't heard of them yet, they're this couple who do excellleeeeent workout vids, especailly their cardio and HIIT routine. And knowing me, who get fed up with workout vids really quickly and get so lazy, Fitnessblender has loooads of variety of HIIT that is soooo much fun when you couple it with real upbeat dance tracks and you're not even aware that so much time has passed!

A couple of videos I'm doing now (circuit training yeaaah):

I started off with these over time I workout to really warm up the body. It's quick and gets your heart pumping but not so overly tired that you give up on exercising after the video hahas.

THEN ITS UP TO KICKBOXING. i absolutely lovelovelove HIIT kickboxing because it's the one thing that I don't get so overly tired with. I usually start to get dead after 1 min of high knees but kickboxing is not fully all about endurance but all of that intense short pops and all. As well as that you really tone and use all the muscles in your body if you can keep everything controlled. This video not only has kickboxing but also ab exercises as well, which helps them muffin tops and all!

Lastly, I do another video of cardio. I think cardio for me is most important because i really do want to lose the fat first. Squats, arms and thigh workouts do give you a really nice tone but you still have that layer of fat that you gotta get off. And since I am a baboon at running, cardio circuits are suitable for a good workout. This video gives you a warm up and gets you into the zone!

Thing is, although I try to exercise regularly, I don't regulate what I eat, which is so important because there should be an equilibrium to these dynamic healthy duos. Being the lazy person I am, I tend to have a good image in my head of bringing out my protein and veggies as much as I can but end up loading up on carbs (bread) and a whole lot of snacks and outside eatting with the friends.

So July resolution? EAT CLEAN!

and also start work omg hahahas.

Tina's birthday party has also passed as well as Steph's surprise birthday party but I'll update you guys on it next time . This month is also going to be very hectic because I'm finally in my last term of year 11 and moving onto year 12 sdlkfjslkjflsdf. So yeah,  expect the random hormonal, ranting updates as well as music. I'll update you guys on the July Mix on the next post so stay tuned!
